What Are Custom Orthotics?
Custom orthotics are foot insoles that are made to help correct any misalignments in the foot, improve a person’s posture, or alleviate any pain in the foot, leg, back, even up to your neck or jaw. They are either inserted in a shoe or integrated into the shoe’s design so that they become a part of the shoe’s sole. Orthotics help to eliminate or reduce foot, back and leg pain by improving function and efficiency. After a thorough consultation and exam with Dr. McCrimmon, he will decide, with you, the best orthotic design to help give you the maximum benefit and fit comfortably in the shoes you wear every day.

At Caledon East Family Chiropractic, we use the latest in orthotic technology to make sure you get the best orthotics for your feet. We use 2 different laboratories in creating our orthotics, which gives us a wide variety of styles and options for the wide variety of feet we see in our office. Every foot exam will involve a computerized analysis of your foot, your standing posture, and how your foot moves while you are walking. By using the Footmaxx digital forceplate, we are able to pick up on subtleties in your foot motion that may not be visible to the naked eye. This technology will give us a digital printout of areas if increased and decreased pressure during your step, and exactly how your foot is responding when your body weight is added during the step. We are then able to compare this data to an ideal step to determine where any deficiencies may be occurring.
