Are all patients adjusted the same way?

Each patient’s care is unique and therefore customized to meet their specific condition and needs. Your chiropractor will modify adjustments based on your size, weight, age and health condition.

Do I need to continue treatment indefinitely after I start?

Of course not! The duration for which you decide to benefit from the appointments is always up to you.

How do I maintain the benefits of chiropractic care at home?

We’ll provide you with personalized recommendations, including exercises and lifestyle adjustments, to help maintain the benefits of chiropractic care between visits.

Can chiropractic care be used in conjunction with other medical treatments?

Absolutely. Chiropractic care can complement traditional medical treatments, and chiropractors often work collaboratively with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care. In our office alone, we have chiropractic, osteopathy, massage therapy and holistic nutrition.

Can children and seniors benefit from chiropractic care?

Yes, chiropractic care is suitable for individuals of all ages. We use specialized techniques for pediatric and geriatric patients to ensure their comfort and safety.

What’s the difference between chiropractors and other healthcare providers?

Chiropractors focus on the musculoskeletal system and nervous system, using hands-on techniques to improve function. They often work in conjunction with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive care. The goal of the chiropractor is to allow your body to function at its best so your body’s healing capabilities are maximized.

Why should my baby or child see a chiropractor?

From birth to age 3 our brains are developing millions of neural connections per second. These pathways are how the brain communicates with the body. This is a critical time for impactful motor development and sensory experiences. However, much like adults, infants and children are capable of developing compensation patterns that could interfere with these connections. Chiropractic treatment can help promote proper development, alleviate discomforts and enhance overall well-being.

**Common signs your child may benefit from chiropractic:**
Feeding issues, difficulty sleeping, tongue ties or other oral dysfunctions, restless/irritation, difficult birth, stress (in-utero, at birth, environment) and delayed motor milestones.

What does pediatric chiropractic treatment look like?

Similar to adult chiropractic care, we focus on the stressors (physical, emotional, chemical) impacting the body. For our little ones, this may present differently, as they communicate their needs and discomforts differently.

Treatments typically include stretching, mobilizing and adjustments (as gentle as how you’d handle a piece of ripe fruit). We continue to monitor your child’s development through important motor milestones and integration of primitive reflexes.

Are chiropractic adjustments addictive?

No, chiropractic care is not addictive. Treatment plans are designed to address specific issues, and the goal is to achieve long-term health and wellness. A large majority of our patients understand the role that chiropractic plays in overall health and allowing the body to function at its best, so they come for regular chiropractic adjustment for health and wellness.

What is osteopathy?

A system of healing based on the gentle manipulation of bones, nerves, organs, and myofascia (muscles and surrounding connective tissue). Treatments generally feel like a light massage for the most part. While deeper pressures are used, they are never done quickly and always to that patient’s comfort level. Most people find the treatments very relaxing, and falling asleep on the table is not an uncommon occurrence.

How does osteopathy differ from chiropractic?

Osteopathic Manual Therapy is not like Chiropractic. Although Osteopathy is adjustive in nature, an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner who is trained in a classical sense does not focus their attention on subluxations like most Chiropractors, but instead focuses on treating the entire body in an integrative manner.

Is osteopathy treatment painful?

In general, osteopathy treatments are not painful. There may be some mild aching or a slightly “bruised” feeling after treatment. Many patients feel freer and more comfortable almost immediately. If you have any concerns about your body’s reaction to the treatment, please don’t hesitate to contact our practice. You can ask to speak to one of our osteopaths who will provide advice and reassurance.

How many osteopathic treatments are typically needed before I start feeling relief?

On average, three or four treatments over two months are needed before actually feeling better. And although after the first treatment you may feel greatly relieved, it is important to understand that the osteopath practitioner needs to deliver at least two treatments in order to provide wellbeing that will last over time, especially if you have never been treated with osteopathy. For patients who experience chronic pain for many years, a long term follow-up may be required. In these cases, one visit per month is recommended to the patient, or as appropriate.

What can Acupuncture help with?

Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine where thin needles are inserted into specific points on the body to stimulate energy flow. This can have various effects on the body such as:

– Pain relief
– Inflammation reduction
– Stress reduction and relaxation
– Improvement of sleep

Does Acupuncture hurt?

Not typically. Acupuncture needles are very fine, often ⅕ the diameter of those typically used for a vaccination. The sensation described by patients varies from dull, heavy, pressure or often nothing at all.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not deal directly with insurance companies. However, we will give you all necessary receipts that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
